An internship allows current students, recent graduates or young professionals the opportunity to gain practical, professional experience in their field of study or area of interest for a time limited period and may serve to prove employability and smooth the transition from study to employment within a chosen career field.
There are many websites, agencies and University advisers that can assist you in finding an internship. If you want to utilise professional services then INTERNeX offers help through the preparation stage (perfecting your CV and cover letter, and ensuring you have all the correct documentation), then following an in-depth consultation with one of our placement supervisors will secure a relevant placement and ensure your placement agreement meets all local labour requirements.
If you have the appropriate visa and your expectations meet those of a host organisation then finding an internship comes down to making contact with the most appropriate people in an organisation and stating why you would be a worthwhile addition to their team. When you are applying for an INTERNeX Internship we work with you to ensure you are prepared for what a host organisation expects, and then explain to them what an internship is, what their responsibilities are and negotiate appropriate projects and prepare an internship agreement that meets local labour laws.
If you are applying directly to a company make sure you have all your papers in order, that you have researched the organisation and you know how you would make a worthwhile contribution to their projects and how you would free up time for their staff to work on other projects. If you are applying with INTERNeX, we’ve made the process easy. First, complete our application form, and follow the prompts to upload your resume, letter of motivation, reference letters and other documents. Once we receive your full application, we will be in touch to arrange an interview with one of our Placement Supervisors. Following a successful interview, you’ll receive a program confirmation and invoice and when program fees are paid we will arrange interviews with host organisations, confirm the placement and have you sign an Internship agreement so you will be ready to commence your placement!
